Access your Super (Self-Managed Application)
In some circumstances, you may be eligible to apply for the early release of your superannuation to cover essential dental treatment under compassionate grounds.
If you choose to apply yourself (rather than using a third-party service), here’s how it generally works:
Obtain Your Treatment Plan
We provide you with a detailed treatment plan and written quote outlining the required dental treatment and costs.Apply Through the ATO
You submit an application directly to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for early release of super on compassionate grounds via your myGov account.Provide Supporting Documents

Fund My Dental
At Latrobe Smile Care we want dental treatment to be accessible and stress-free. That’s why we offer Fund My Dental — an easy, flexible payment plan option that helps you spread the cost of your dental care into manageable weekly repayments.
Choose Your Plan
When you decide to use Fund My Dental, you pick one of two weekly payment plans — usually a $39 plan (up to $1,000 treatment) or a $79 plan (up to $2,000 treatment).Simple Sign Up

If you have private health insurance, you can still use it. Any amount covered by your insurer comes off first, and only the remaining gap goes into the Fund My Dental plan.

If the cost of treatment is holding you back, you may be able to access your superannuation early on compassionate grounds to cover necessary medical or dental procedures.
We work with Access My Super, an experienced Australian service that assists patients through the entire application process. Their team manages the documentation, prepares and submits the application to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), and liaises with your super fund on your behalf. This removes the stress and uncertainty of navigating the process alone.
The application process can involve detailed paperwork, supporting medical reports, and formal cost estimates. Access My Super coordinates this for you, ensuring all required documentation is completed correctly and submitted promptly. Their role is to simplify what can otherwise feel like a complex administrative process.
If approved, your superannuation funds are released directly to cover your treatment expenses, allowing you to proceed with care without unnecessary delay.
